A BRIEF COMPARISON BETWEEN THE WAR ON TERRORISM & THE RELIEF EFFORTS IN HAITI AFTER THE EARTHQUAKE

If we look at the efforts being undertaken in HAITI by US Forces and the US Government and compare such to the current WAR ON TERRORISM in Iraq, Pakistan, Iran, Afghanistan, and other Near or Mid Eastern areas, we find some similarities, namely, that little is being efficiently accomplished or achieved thus far, for many reasons given much press. In HAITI the local or national government there is blamed for a good deal while the US continues a 'wishy-washy' policy in trying to maintain the stance that the government there is in charge(just as it tries to do so in the countries where it is doing the fighting) and also that HAITI is a sovereign nation. The US Government will not acknowledge its past role in shaping conditions now found in Haiti as well as those in other countries where our former policies have constantly, if not continually, supported dictators, elite corporations, elite groups, vast landowers and so forth, which, when it was felt expedient, dropped or deposed, etc. Fearful of criticism by other nations, The US does not do what it should do: NAMELY TAKE OVER THE COUNTRY AND SET UP STABILITY FOR ITS PEOPLE. This is also true in Afghanistan, Pakistan, Iraq, and Iran. Trying to involve other nations into all of this requires more than diplomacy-IT REQUIRES ACTION.
