PETER TOMPKINS - AUTHOR

In a web search for PETER TOMPKINS,author of SECRETS OF THE GREAT PYRAMIDS, which I read in probably in early 1972 but did not buy, I learned that he had passed away. At one time he lived in UNITY, NEW HAMPSHHIRE but am not sure just where, which is near CLAREMONT. If I recall it might have been one or two of my friends interested in such things that steered me to the volume. I also learned of his book on THE SECRET LIFE OF PLANTS, but I think this study was set up years before his book on the subject by someone whose name I can't recall. I found later he did a book on MYSTERIES OF THE ;MEXICAN PYRAMIDS, 1976. He died January 24,2007, at age 87. The intriguing thing is that he had been a member of the OSS aparently recruited in 1943 and ser;ved in Italy in 1944, and then published a book on his 'exploits' in 1962. I have not read any of his books beyond the first glances of his major book on the Great Pyramid but hope to do so when I can find them and find time to read them.

DIEGO GARCIA

NO, DIEGO GARCIA is NOT a writer,a poet, an actor, a hero, an athlete, a playwrite, an artist, a musician, an author, a movie star, or anything like that! The name might have a remote connection to the geographical children's TV show once shown: WHERE IN THE WORLD IS CARMAN DIEGO? DIEGO GARCIA is a small island that few AMERICANS or US Citizens have heard much about or know anything about and their continued ignorance of the place is part of the larger problem people have concerning such things. The name DIEGO GARCIA became known to me through my acquaintance and association(s) at my former workplace where a number of former military people worked and some of these had been there and also had done some varied 'intelligence' work while in,say, the Air Force,the Navy, the Seabees,etc. and a few for the CIA and VOA,etc. and in,conversations with them I learned a bit about the existence of this place. DIEGO GARCIA is a coral atoll in the CHAGOS ARCHIPELAGO and the largest island there and is in the INDIAN OCEAN. I will post a couple of videos that are said to mention things ab out this place,etc. A GOOGLE SEARCH will prove most revealing to those who have never heard of the place.

A BRIEF COMPARISON BETWEEN THE WAR ON TERRORISM & THE RELIEF EFFORTS IN HAITI AFTER THE EARTHQUAKE

If we look at the efforts being undertaken in HAITI by US Forces and the US Government and compare such to the current WAR ON TERRORISM in Iraq, Pakistan, Iran, Afghanistan, and other Near or Mid Eastern areas, we find some similarities, namely, that little is being efficiently accomplished or achieved thus far, for many reasons given much press. In HAITI the local or national government there is blamed for a good deal while the US continues a 'wishy-washy' policy in trying to maintain the stance that the government there is in charge(just as it tries to do so in the countries where it is doing the fighting) and also that HAITI is a sovereign nation. The US Government will not acknowledge its past role in shaping conditions now found in Haiti as well as those in other countries where our former policies have constantly, if not continually, supported dictators,elite corporations, elite groups, vast landowers and so forth,which,when it was felt expedient, dropped or deposed,etc. Fearful of criticism by other nations, The US does not do what it should do: NAMELY TAKE OVER THE COUNTRY AND SET UP STABILITY FOR ITS PEOPLE. This is also true in Afghanistan, Pakistan, Iraq, and Iran. Trying to involve other nations into all of this requires more than diplomacy-IT REQUIRES ACTION.

EAGLES DO NOT CATCH FLIES

This can also be paraphrased as: EAGLES DO NOT CATCH SPIES(or terrorists). Americans(usually the average ones, assume that everyone acts and thinks as they do and is concerned with what Americans are concerned with,etc. AND,such an assumption is DANGEROUS especially among those trying to obtsain 'intelligence' & 'information' of any kind, particularly that being sought by governments and military. The 'SPY GAME' is not a 'James Bond' movie or a Hollywood 'thriller' ala Hitchcock. It is brutal and deadly at times as can be seen in the latest news reports and not merely a Graham Greene,3rd Man affair,etc. On all levels, the Spy Game can be deadly and dangerous for all participants and all plots are subject to such.

KNOW YOUR ENEMY

One of the things now being ignored by many is the old dictum, "KNOW YOUR ENEMY" if newspaper accounts of the latest 'acts of terrorism' and related items are any indication. The CIA operatives recently killed demonstrates how 'clever' and 'sly' certain groups can be and how 'dedicated' they are to total destruction of those they perceive as their enemies. History is replete with many acts of 'treachery' and 'suicidal' exploits, that are often described by those admiring such as 'acts of heroism'. One group's 'heroism' is another group's 'terrorism'. Comparisons of modern terrorists to those of ancient cults, such as the assassins or the thug(ees), are only valid up to a point. The fact of the matter, no operative in another nation can afford to trust completely any contacts or 'associates' etc. completely. For those terrorists who are truly embedded in a culture and bent on its destruction in various ways, patience is a needed virtue and such persons can and do wait until the opportune time,unless something or someone upsets their plans,which can be exceedlingly difficult to uncover or reveal. Language barriers and cultural ignorance operates on all levels usually and so we read of various assassinations and bombings,etc. almost daily.
